(Calgary) In his rookie season, Griffin played 13 games including four starts, accumulating 29 defensive tackles, six special-teams stops, one sack and one fumble recovery. He made two starts at the SAM position, one at safety and one at field half. Griffin made his CFL debut in the season-opener against BC and had one special-teams tackle. Two weeks later against Saskatchewan, he received his first starting assignment and recorded 11 tackles and one sack. After suffering a knee injury in the Labour Day Classic, he missed five games and returned to the lineup in the regular-season finale against Winnipeg and made eight tackles. Griffin started the Western Semi-Final at field half and had five tackles including a tackle for loss.

College           

Griffin played his final three seasons (2019-21) at South Dakota State. In 39 career games including 37 starts for the Jackrabbits, he recorded 159 total tackles including 1.5 tackles for loss. Griffin also had seven interceptions that he returned for a total of 77 yards, eight pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. In 2019, he was named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference’s all-newcomer team. Griffin started his collegiate career with 20 games over two seasons (2016-17) at Southwest Minnesota State. In his second season with the Mustangs, he started all 11 games and was second on the team with 85 tackles.

Personal

Griffin earned all-conference and all-district honours at Park High School in Cottage Grove, Minn. He also played basketball and participated in track and field for the Wolfpack.
