Food Friday: Pre-game meal

The Stamps eat their pre-game meal before heading to BC Place for their final pre-season game

A pre-season road trip is unlike any trip during the season.

For starters, instead of arriving one or two days before the game, teams are in and out of the host city on the same day the contest is played.

With such a tight schedule and with a desire to maintain some semblance of a regular routine, the Stamps arrived in Vancouver some six hours before kickoff on Friday and headed to a local hotel meeting room for chapel and a pre-game meal.

One thing that remains the same whether it’s pre-season, post-season or playoffs is the pre-game spread features athlete standbys of chicken and pasta as well fruits, vegetables and selected breakfast items.

Then, four hours before kickoff, the team busses to the stadium and accelerated the physical and mental preparation for the game.
