Defensive lineman added to practice roster

The Calgary Stampeders have added international defensive lineman Bryson Kelly to the practice roster.

Kelly attended training camp with the National Football League’s Oakland Raiders in 2011 and also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks in 2012 and Carolina Panthers in 2013. He played three seasons in the Arena Football League as he was with the Spokane Shock in 2014 and 2015 before joining the Portland Steel. With the Shock in 2015, he had 16 tackles and 1.5 sacks and also saw action on the other side of the ball with seven rushing touchdowns.

Kelly was a running back for two seasons (2009-10) at Central Washington and rushed for 1,387 yards on 299 carries with 11 touchdowns in 21 games. He was a first-team all-Great Northwest Athletic Conference selection in 2010, a season that included a 246-yard game against Simon Fraser. Prior to attending Central Washington, he played two seasons at Santa Ana College in California.
