Williams is CFL’s top player of the week

Running back Terry Williams has been honoured as the Canadian Football League’s top player of the week for his performance in the Calgary Stampeders’ 59-11 victory over the Montreal Alouettes at McMahon Stadium on Friday.

In his first CFL start, Williams carried the ball 16 times for 156 yards – an average of 9.8 yards per carry – and scored three touchdowns to help the Stamps extend their winning streak to 10 games. A rookie out of Kutztown University, Williams also had one reception for 14 yards.

Stamps players have received a total of nine player-of-the-week awards so far in 2017.
