Introducing Guest Coaches For Training Camp

The Calgary Stampeders are pleased to announce seven guest coaches for 2018 training camp.

Matt Berry: A member of the University of Calgary football staff since 2010, Berry currently serves as the Dinos’ defensive coordinator and is also involved in recruiting. He played at the University of Ottawa and was part of a Vanier Cup-winning team in 2000.

Carl Brennan: The offensive line coach for the Universite de Laval for a total of 18 years over two stints, Brennan also has experience in the CFL including one season as a member of the Stampeders coaching staff in 2004. He has also been with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Edmonton Eskimos and has previously been a guest coach at Stampeders training camp.

Dwayne Cameron: A longtime coach at Wilfrid Laurier University, Cameron is currently the Golden Hawks’ special-teams coordinator, defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator. During his first coaching stint at Wilfrid Laurier, he was part of a Vanier Cup championship team in 2005.

Mike Goff: The former NFL offensive lineman is currently part of the USC Trojans coaching staff, serving as a defensive quality control assistant. After playing his college football at Iowa, Goff played a total of 12 NFL seasons with Cincinnati, San Diego and Kansas City.

Greg Knox: A two-time Grey Cup winner as a player with the Stampeders, Knox is currently the head coach at McMaster University. He has a 12-4 career record as head man for the Marauders and made three trips to the Vanier Cup as McMaster’s defensive coordinator, winning a title in 2011. A safety, Knox played seven seasons for the Stamps, earning CFL all-star honours in 1994.

Marquay McDaniel: The Virginia Beach, Va., native played nine seasons in the CFL including six with the Stampeders from 2012-17. McDaniel had three 1,000-yard seasons for Calgary and was a member of the Stamps’ 2014 Grey Cup championship team.

Ryan Phillips: A five-time division all-star and a four-time CFL all-star, Phillips played 11 seasons with the BC Lions before concluding his career in 2017 with the Montreal Alouettes. Before coming to the CFL, Phillips starred at Eastern Washington University.

Main training camp gets under way on Sunday at 9:05 a.m.
