Brescacin: Game Blog

I’m proud of my reception tonight for sure. I think my mom’s probably more proud than I am – so you’re welcome Mom!

It’s a great feeling, but most importantly it wouldn’t have really mattered to me if we didn’t win. Coming out with the win was the most important thing but it was nice to go out there and make a play.

On the play I ran a corner route, and I saw Bo scrambling out of the pocket and he was pointing for me to go deep. I just adjusted to the ball and stuck my hand out and the ball stuck to my hand – before I knew it I was all over the Internet.

My second catch wasn’t as pretty. I was running across the middle at five yards, caught the ball, and took a big hit. But I’ve taken multiple hits my career, so it wasn’t anything I haven’t felt before. I’m just happy to come out and be productive tonight – that was my number-one goal.

I think there were a lot of ups-and-downs during our game but coach Dickey (Dave Dickenson) said it wasn’t going to be perfect, and he was right. But we always talk about learning from a win and not a loss.

I think we have a great team and my brothers in the receiving room … we made plays when we had to. From top to bottom, even first-year guys like Richard Sindani who came in and he made some plays.

I think we just showed a little bit of what we can do and as the season progresses I think we’ll come together.

Having the season-opener at home was awesome, the fans are always great. I also had some friends from Ontario here and it was nice for them to come out and witness this because they don’t get to see that often.

I’m really looking forward to next week’s game. I’m going home to Toronto to play the Argonauts, I’m sure I’m going to have 50 people there, so it will be a nice homecoming game.
