It shouldn’t come as surprise, really.

After all, it runs in the family.

While Bo Levi Mitchell is the quarterback on the field, co-ordinating the Stampeders offence to run as one smooth, harmonious unit, his wife does the same job off it with their family and friends.

When Madison Mitchell found out that the 106th Grey Cup would be hosted in Edmonton, she knew if the Stamps were lucky enough to make it to the big dance, there would be a large group of family from all over the continent who would want to come and cheer for the Red and White.

“We have 19 people coming to Edmonton this year. Nineteen for No. 19, so hopefully that’s lucky,” said Madison earlier this week. “They’re coming from Washington, Texas and South Carolina. Six today and 10 tomorrow.”

The logistics of coordinating 19 people, including Bo and Madi’s adorable two-year-old daughter Ele, may sound daunting to some, but Madi reveals she’s a natural planner.

“This is the biggest group we’ve hosted at a Grey Cup so far,” she explained.  “We booked an Air BNB that sleeps 14 in the middle of the season and lined up two big SUVs to drive everyone where they need to go. So when we won on Sunday, I was so excited all that planning paid off.”

A jam packed week of Grey Cup events and activities, not to mention practice and preparation for the game, means Madi doesn’t get to see her husband very much but they do have some things planned together.

“We’re planning a big family (American) Thanksgiving on Friday because we have the Awards on Thursday night. Then Stamps House and the Cheer Extravaganza are definitely on the family’s list for this week. And of course the big game on Sunday.

“Hopefully we’re all sitting together!,” she laughed.
