Corey Mace Turkey Drive

Calgary Stampeders coach Corey Mace is set to lead his annual turkey and ham drive for the benefit of those without a holiday meal.

The program dates back to 2013 when Mace played with the Red and White and has continued since he was named the team’s defensive line coach in 2016.

“No matter the outcome of any season, my wife and I always look forward to this time of the year,” said Mace. “It brings us so much joy seeing people in the community come together to support one another. People may give the Mace family the credit but we know it’s Calgary who gets the tip of the hat.”

Last year, a record total of 414 turkeys and hams were collected for delivery to the Airdrie Food Bank, CUPS and Enviros Wilderness School.

“This city has proven time and time again how big of a heart it has and we just want to continue to highlight that. Year number six is going to be better than ever. It’s time to feed it forward, Calgary.”

There are three locations to make a turkey, ham or cash donation:

• At the Stampeders West Administration Office located on the southwest corner of McMahon Stadium. Donations can be made on Friday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• At Sobeys in Airdrie (65 MacKenzie Way SW) on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 2 to 4 p.m.
• At the Aspen Landing Shopping Centre Safeway (375 Aspen Glen Landing SW) on Sunday, Dec. 16 from noon to 4 p.m. The Grey Cup will be present

On Monday, Dec. 17, Mace will once again be personally delivering the donated items to the Airdrie Food Bank, CUPS and Enviros Wilderness School as well as Inn from the Cold, Red Community Midwives and Children’s Cottage Society.
