Stamps Sign Three Linebackers

The Calgary Stampeders have signed international linebackers Jerod Fernandez, Anthony Gore and Travis Wilson.

Here is more information on the newcomers, who will report for rookie camp next week at McMahon Stadium:

Jerod Fernandez

Fernandez signed with the National Football League’s Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He played all four pre-season games and recorded two sacks in a game against the New York Jets. Fernandez played 51 games over four seasons at North Carolina State. He posted 311 tackles including nine tackles for loss, two sacks, five interceptions, seven knockdowns and two forced fumbles. In his senior season for the Wolfpack, Fernandez led the team in tackles with 98.

Anthony Gore

Gore played 49 games over four seasons at Kennesaw State and was the Big South Conference defensive player of the year in 2018 after recording 80 tackles including 17 tackles for loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass breakup for the Owls. He was first-team all-Big South in both 2017 and 2018 and he was second-team all-conference in 2016. For his career, Gore accumulated 275 tackles including 42 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, two interceptions, five forced fumbles and three pass breakups.

Wilson played 37 games at the University of Nevada and totaled 72 tackles including seven tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and three knockdowns. As a senior, he started 11 of 12 games for the Wolfpack and set single-season career highs with 45 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss.
