In their second matchup of 2019, the Calgary Stampeders will travel east to face the Ottawa RedBlacks to kick off Week 7 of CFL action. The game will be broadcast on TSN and can be heard on 770 CHQR radio. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. MDT from TD Place Stadium.

The Stamps are looking to post back-to-back wins for the second time this season after a 26-16 home victory over the Toronto Argonauts last week pushed their record to 3-2. Receiver Juwan Brescacin recorded the first two-touchdown game of his career and the Stamps had four different players record an interception in addition to a fumble recovery for a touchdown by defensive back Tre Roberson.

Meanwhile, Ottawa is 2-3 having dropped three straight decisions by a total of 62 points. Jonathon Jennings made his first start of the season under centre for the RedBlacks last week in Winnipeg and will do so once again this week in place of the injured Dominique Davis.

These two teams met in Week 1 at McMahon Stadium and Ottawa scored the winning touchdown with only 1:22 left on the clock. That mid-June meeting saw first-string pivots Davis and Bo Levi Mitchell commanding their respective huddles while it will be Jennings and Nick Arbuckle this time around.

Prior to last year’s 27-3 triumph in Ottawa, the Stampeders and RedBlacks were forced to settle for a tie at TD Place Stadium in both 2016 and 2017.

Thursday’s fixture will feature two of the league’s top-10 tacklers as Calgary’s Cory Greenwood sits second with 34 stops and Ottawa’s Avery Williams is fourth with 31. In addition, Richie Leone of the RedBlacks and Rob Maver of the Stamps are both in the top three in terms of punting average.

Both squads will face a fierce rival next week with Calgary hosting the Eskimos on Saturday, Aug. 3 and Ottawa visiting the Alouettes one day earlier on Friday, Aug. 2.
