Stamps Leading At The Half!

The battle is underway out west.

And so far the Stampeders are on their way to a 3rd-straight victory this evening as they lead the BC Lions 16-6 at halftime at BC Place.

The Lions got on the board first after a 43-yard Bryan Burnham reception put the home team in the red zone. Nathan Rourke ran the ball in for the score on the following play. The Lions attempted a two point convert after, but were unsuccessful.

It wasn’t long before the Stamps answered back, though. On the next drive Bo Levi Mitchell and Luther Hakunavanhu connected in the endzone for the rookie’s first CFL touchdown. Rene Paredes nailed the convert to put the Red & White up by one after the first quarter.

The Stamps defence stood tall for the next 15, forcing four Lions two-and-outs – holding them scoreless for the entire quarter, while Paredes padded the Stamps’ lead. He’d boot a 42-yard field goal right with 8:58 remaining in the frame, and hit twice more from 17 yards and 39 yards in the final minute of the half to give the Stamps a ten point advantage after two.
