It’s a battle of 12-6 teams in the Canadian Football League’s Western Semi-Final as the Calgary Stampeders travel to Vancouver to face the BC Lions.

The Stamps and Lions were tied for the regular-season’s second-best record and are battling for the right to advance to the Western Final in Winnipeg on Nov. 13.

BC won two of the three regular-season games against Calgary in 2022 – 41-40 in Week 10 and 31-29 in overtime in Week 15, both at McMahon Stadium. The Stampeders won the only meeting in Vancouver – 25-11 in Week 16 – as part of the Red and White’s CFL-best 7-2 road record.

Calgary led the CFL in scoring this season with 562 points and the Stamps’ 397 points allowed ranked second in the league. BC was third in both categories with 525 points scored and 405 allowed.

This is the first playoff game between the Stamps and Leos since Calgary won the 2016 West final and the first played in Vancouver since a Stamps victory in the 2012 West final. The Stamps’ most recent post-season contest at BC Place was their win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2014 Grey Cup.

This is the 35th time in franchise history the Stampeders have played in the division semifinal round and they have an 18-16 record including 6-0 against BC.

Calgary and BC have met a total of 13 times in the post-season over the years including six in the division semifinal and seven in the division final, with the Stampeders winning 10 times.
