The Stampeders couldn’t gain any ground on the Saskatchewan Roughriders for third in the west as they fell 22-15 in Hamilton on Saturday night.
The loss drops Calgary to 4-11 on the season.

The action got started on Saturday night when rookie defensive lineman Kelon Thomas got a hand to a fake-punt pass attempt from the Tiger-Cats setting the Stamps up with the ball at the Hamilton 50-yardline.
The Stamps finished the short drive with a 47-yard field-goal from veteran kicker Rene Paredes to make the score 3-0.
The two teams traded punts, and the score remained 3-0 heading into the second-quarter.
The Stampeders got into Hamilton territory again early in the second with Paredes knocking through another field-goal, this time from 30-yards out, to make the score six-zip.
Hamilton got it all back in one play as receiver Tim White hauled in long pass from Black and Gold QB Matthew Schiltz for a 70-yard score. They missed the extra point, tying the game 6-a-piece.
Shortly after, linebacker Cameron Judge had a beautiful interception to stall a Tiger-Cats drive but the Stampeders were forced to punt.
The Tiger-Cats put three points up on the scoreboard with two-minutes to go in the half to make the score 9-6.
They scored again at the end of the half through the air to make it 16-6 heading into halftime.
Calgary got points on the board to start the second-half as Paredes made good on his third field-goal of the night to make the score 16-9.
The Stamps we’re moving again but tailback Dedrick Mills fumbled the football after a good gain and the ball was turned over. The Calgary defence was able to hold however, leading to a Ticats punt.
The Tiger-Cats pushed the ball into Stampeders territory to start the fourth-quarter leading to another field-goal. That made the score 19-9 with just over nine minutes remaining in the game.
Calgary countered with a field-goal of their own on their next drive to move them within one score, 19-12 with just over five minutes to play.
The Red and White were unable to stop the Tiger-Cats late as Hamilton added another field-goal to once again go up by ten points, making the scoreboard read 22-12 with 1:19 remaining.
Calgary added another field-goal courtesy of Paredes, with 30-seconds remaining but were unable to recover the ensuing onside kick and fell 22-15.
