7 Things – Riders @ Stamps

1. Us: (4-11)

The Stamps are coming off their last bye week of the season as they face a must-win game against the rival Saskatchewan Roughriders. Last time out, Calgary lost 22-15 to the Tiger-Cats in Hamilton.

2. Them: Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-10)

The Riders are on a slide of their own as they cling to the final playoff spot in the West. A win this week against Calgary would lock them in as the final team in the Grey Cup Playoffs.

3. Us Vs Them:

This is the third and final meeting between these two teams this season. Saskatchewan won in overtime 29-26 in late June, while the Stamps returned the favour in Regina with a 33-31 victory. Neither team has won a game since Labour Day Weekend.

4. Fast Facts

Friday’s contest features a celebration of the partnership between the Stampeders and the University of Calgary.

In addition, proceeds from the Stampeders Foundation RE/MAX 50/50 draw will benefit Dinos Athletics, Dinos student-athletes will be featured in various game-day activities.

The Stampeders will be wearing custom helmets that include an Indigenous version of their running horse logo. The team previously wore the helmets as part of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30 when the Stamps played in Hamilton but this is the first time the Indigenous logo will be featured for a game at McMahon.

Thanks to our Director of Communications Jean Lefebvre for handing off these facts!

5. Who’s Where

6. Players to Watch

Stamps: RB Peyton Logan: Peyton Logan makes his return to the Stampeders lineup. He was injured in Week 3 at home against the Roughriders. He looks to bring a spark to the backfield and the return game.

Roughriders: REC Shawn Bane Jr.: The former Stamps receiver is 135 yards away from his first 1,000-yard receiving season in the CFL. He sits 10thin the league coming into Friday’s game.

7. Quotable:

“You can’t wait for somebody to make something happen, you have to make it happen yourself.” Veteran DL Mike Rose on the must-win tilt against Saskatchewan.
