7 Things – Stamps @ Lions

1. Us: (6-12)

The Stamps dropped their final regular-season battle with the Bombers last weekend, 36-13, in a game that meant nothing in the standings. Prior to that, Calgary put together two huge wins to secure the final playoff spot in the West.

2. Them: BC Lions (12-6)

The Lions dropped their last game of the year to the Stampeders 41-16 before having a bye in the final week of the season. The Lions lost two of their last three heading into this playoff matchup.

3. Us Vs Them:

This is the fourth meeting of the season between these two and the second straight West Semi-Final battle. The Lions went 2-1 against the Stampeders in the regular season this year, with Calgary handing the Lions a 41-16 loss late in the season. It was the Lions who came out on top 30-16 in the WSF last year.

Stamps: RB Ka’Deem Carey: Carey had over 100 yards on 18 touches last time these two met. Last year in the playoffs, he had 84 yards on 10 touches. He is primed to be a game-breaker on Saturday.

Lions: REC Keon Hatcher: Hatcher finished second in the CFL in receiving yards with 1,226. He also added six touchdowns and had four 100-yard games this season. He will be a big weapon for Vernon Adams Jr this weekend.

7. Quotable:

“It’s going to be an even tougher game than any of the other games we’ve played against them.” – Linebacker Micah Awe on preparing for Saturday’s playoff matchup against the Lions.
