2022

(Ottawa) Salmon was in uniform for all 18 games and made one start. He finished second on the Redblacks with 15 special-teams tackles and also had 15 defensive tackles including one tackle for loss, two forced fumbles, an interception and a knockdown. The pick – the first of his career – came in a Week 9 home game against the Stampeders and was returned for 30 yards. Salmon had a career-high seven defensive tackles in Week 19 against Montreal and four special-teams takedowns in Week 20 at Hamilton.

 

2021

(Ottawa) Salmon played 12 games for the Redblacks and had one defensive tackle, eight special-teams tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He had three special-teams tackles in Week 9 against Edmonton and both a forced fumble and a recovery in Week 14 against Toronto.

 

2020

(Ottawa) Salmon was under contract with the Redblacks but the season was cancelled because of the global pandemic.

 

2019

(Ottawa) Salmon played five games in his first CFL season, seeing action on special teams and as a backup linebacker. He finished the season with three defensive tackles, four special-teams stops and one forced fumble. Salmon made his debut in Week 9 at Edmonton and made one special-teams tackle. In Week 20 at Toronto, he had one defensive tackle, one special-teams tackle and a forced fumble.

Salmon played four seasons (2014-17) at Samford. In 44 games including 27 starts for the Bulldogs, he had 275 tackles, 8.5 sacks and four interceptions. He was named first-team all-Southern Conference in both his junior and senior seasons. Salmon had a team-leading 109 tackles and 15.5 tackles for loss for the Bulldogs in 2017.

 

Personal

As a senior for Land O’ Lakes (Fla.) High School, Salmon led the Fighting Gators with 117 tackles including 21.5 tackles for loss. He was named first-team all-county, first-team all-conference and third-team all-state. He also played basketball and competed in track for Land O’ Lakes.
