Three More Transactions For Stamps

Today, the Calgary Stampeder Football Club announced that they have extended the contracts of Offensive Lineman Godfrey Ellis and Defensive Lineman Terrence Patrick and have re-signed Receiver Mike Juhasz.
Ellis was drafted by the Stampeders in the second round (10th overall) in the 2005 Canadian College Draft. This past season Godfrey showed that he belonged in professional football, filling in for several positions and performing at a very high level.
“Godfrey was thrown into some difficult situations last year and responded well,” said General Manager Jim Barker. “We expect him to be a big part of the Stampeder offensive line for years to come.”
“Since day one of joining the Stampeder organization I have felt an immediate comfort level with the players, coaches and organization as a whole,” said Stampeder Offensive Lineman Godfrey Ellis. “I'm excited to extend my contract with the Stampeder organization and look forward to learning more from all of the veteran leadership on this team.”
Patrick finished his rookie season this past year showing tremendous upside. After working his way onto the field Terrence displayed his athletic ability throughout each game.
“Terrence came out of a very small college and as the season progressed so did he,” said General Manager Jim Barker. “We feel he is one of the top young defensive linemen in the CFL and are very excited about his commitment to the organization.”
“This past season I truly enjoyed working with the Stampeder coaching staff and specifically on the defensive side of the ball in Denny and Casey Creehan,” said Stampeder Defensive Lineman Terrence Patrick. “With all of the coaching staff in tact from last season it makes it very exciting to see if we can't take it to the next level in the 2006 season.”
Juhasz will be entering his 7th CFL season and brings with him a wealth of experience to the team. He has been a consistent receiver over the years as a Canadian Receiver.
“Mike has been a solid part of our core players,” said General Manager Jim Barker. “He brings with him a vast amount of CFL experience, which will help us throughout the season.”
“Having grown up in Calgary and grown some deep roots, I'm very excited to be able to re-sign with the Stampeder organization,” said Stampeder Receiver Mike Juhasz. “This past year was very exciting to be a part of and I'm looking forward to helping out in any way to take us to the next step.”
