Stamps confirm ’09 coaching staff

Stampeders head coach/general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to confirm that the club will retain its entire coaching staff for the upcoming 2009 Canadian Football League campaign.

“We had a great staff last year as was proven by their accomplishments,” said Hufnagel. “Anytime you are recognized for an award such as the CFL’s Coach of the Year, it’s really an honour for the entire coaching staff and we’re truly lucky to have the entire group back.”

Offensive coordinator/associate head coach George Cortez will return as will defensive coordinator/assistant director, player personnel Chris Jones. Cortez, enters his 11th season (three separate terms) with the Red and White and 18th in the CFL. Jones enters his second season with the Stamps and eighth in the CFL.

Special teams coach Craig Dickenson will return for his sixth season with the club and seventh in the CFL. Assistant linebackers coach/strength and conditioning coach Mark Kilam returns for his fifth consecutive season, while offensive line coach Kris Sweet returns for his third consecutive.

Receivers coach Pete Costanza, defensive line coach Cornell Brown and defensive backs coach Corey Chamblin all return for their second consecutive seasons with the team.
