Outriders teach cheers at Jr. Stamps Camp

Stampeders.com Staff

The sun was out this past Saturday as Junior Stamps Camp took place at Drumheller Valley Secondary School in Drumheller, Alta. The Stampeders rookies, along with Outriders Kaylea, Meg, and Raylene, made the road trip to Drumheller for the second annual installment of this event.

Football players of all ages had the opportunity to run through the Stampeders helmet and onto the field where they participated in a wide array of football drills ran by the rookies.

The Outriders had the opportunity to meet the Drumheller Valley Secondary School’s own cheer team. Kaylea, Meg, and Raylene taught the girls some of their favorite Stampeder cheers. However, it did not take long before the girls from DVSS took the lead and showed the Outriders some of their trademark chants as well.

Curious of the cheerleading activities, Ralph the Dog tried his hand at learning the new cheers. He was much less successful. Ralph will stick to doing what he does best, being the Calgary Stampeders number one fan and MVP (Most Valuable Pooch).

Junior Stamps Camp is designed to give kids an opportunity to interact with Stampeder players while they learn the fundamentals of football in a camp-like atmosphere. Funds raised by Junior Stamps Camp go to support KidSport.
