Outriders on hand for block party

The young Calgary community of Mahogany hosted their annual block party this past Saturday. The event started in the afternoon at the community lake and moved over to the park where streets had been blocked off in order to accommodate close to two thousand people.

Outriders Dana and Raylene were on hand to take part in the festivities which included mini golf, ice cream, face painters and, of course, a barbeque. There was also a sand castle building contest on the beach earlier in the day.

Despite the numerous activities to choose from, drawing on the blocked off roads with chalk was the main attraction for many children. Dana and Raylene helped numerous artists-to-be draw everything from Christmas trees to the Stampeders’ horse logo.

The 2014 Mahogany Block Party was a perfect way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon!
