Stamps sign Brown and Johnson

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce the signing of international running back/kick returner Tim Brown and national linebacker Christopher Johnson. As per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Brown is a four-year CFL veteran who has twice led the West Division in all-purpose yards and was a West Division all-star in 2012. He averaged 27.6 yards per kickoff return for the BC Lions in 2014 and 11.4 yards on punt returns. The Temple University product has six career return touchdowns as well as six rushing touchdowns. Brown has a Grey Cup ring as a member of the Lions in 2011.

Johnson played two games as a rookie for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2014 and recorded two special-teams tackles. The University of Toronto alum was a fifth-round pick by the Ticats in the 2014 draft.
