This morning the Calgary Stampeders announced that defensive coordinator DeVone Claybrooks would be adding “active player” duties to his role. They said he would return to the field after a five-year absence.
“DeVone was a natural fit,” said head coach Dave Dickenson. “He wants to do it, he thinks he can still play, he’s challenged Charleston Hughes to see who can get more sacks so I think it could end being a positive for us.”
At noon, the team sent out the video below admitting that it was, of course, all an April Fools’ joke!
Happy April Fools’ Day, Stamps fans!
