The Calgary Stampeders have added national kicker David Deschamps to the practice roster.

Deschamps played defensive back in addition to playing on kick cover teams and doing some kicking for the Universite de Montreal. In regular-season action, he was nine for 12 on field goals over his career with the Carabins and he was 12-for-12 on extra points. He was seven-for-seven on field goals in post-season play.
Deschamps also had 26 tackles, three interceptions and one sack.
In another transaction, international defensive back Mario Butler has been placed on the retired list.
