The Calgary Stampeders (1-2) will play on the road for the first time in 666 days on Sunday evening as they look to pull even in the standings with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2-1).

Quarterback Jake Maier and company will be searching for their second win in a row following a dramatic 28-22 victory over Montreal. Ka’Deem Carey scored his first two touchdowns of the season and Royce Metchie made interception No. 1 on the campaign for the Stamps as a late Alouettes rally came up short.

The Bombers will be facing their initial Western opponent after opening up against Hamilton and then squaring off with the Argonauts in back-to-back outings. Last Saturday in Toronto’s home-opener, the Blue Bombers tallied four sacks but managed just 236 yards of offence and lost the time-of-possession battle by a two-to-one margin.

Entering Week 4, both teams have converted just one third of their red-zone opportunities into touchdowns. Calgary leads the CFL with seven passing plays of at least 30 yards while the Bombers have returned one of their league-high five forced fumbles for a major score.

Winnipeg is the only team without a former player on the Stampeders roster. Conversely, offensive lineman Stanley Bryant played for the Stamps from 2010-14. Kicker Tyler Crapigna was selected by the Red and White in the 2014 CFL draft and, despite never seeing regular-season action, kicked a game-winning field goal – over the Blue Bombers – in his preseason debut.

Calgary is 18-5 against Winnipeg over the past 10 seasons and has beaten the Blue Bombers at least once in each season since 2003. The final game on the 2021 CFL calendar will see the Bombers make their way to McMahon.
