7 Things – Stamps @ Bombers

1. Us: (1-2)

The Stamps are searching for their first win against a West Division opponent this season and get another chance to do so against the Blue Bombers in Manitoba this Friday. The Red and White are returning from a bye week where they’ve had a chance to stew over a heartbreaking 29-26 OT loss to the Riders. With receiver Malik Henry out for the season after suffering an achilles injury, the team brought back explosive target Marken Michel who last suited up for Calgary in 2018 before heading south for an opportunity in the NFL.

2. Them: (3-1)

Winnipeg is coming off a dominant 17-3 victory over the Montreal Alouettes. Quarterback Zach Collaros threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

3. Us vs. Them:

Calgary is attempting to snap a losing streak in the Manitoba capital as the Stamps have dropped six straight at IG Field since a 29-10 victory on July 7, 2017. The Stampeders have been on the wrong end of a series of close contests during that sequence as eight points has been the Red and White’s largest margin of defeat, and four of the six losses have been by one or two points.

4. Fast Facts:

National linebacker Cameron Judge has shown a penchant for picks since joining the Stamps. In 20 career regular-season games with the Red and White, Judge has four interceptions including a team-leading two this season. That compares with two interceptions in 47 career appearances for Saskatchewan and Toronto before being acquired in a trade by the Stampeders in February of 2022.

Thanks to our Director of Communications Jean Lefebvre for handing off these facts!

5. Who’s Where:

6. Players to Watch:

Stamps: Reggie Begelton WR: The veteran pass catcher is back in the lineup after missing Week 3’s game against the Green and White due to a rib injury. In the Bagel Man’s last outing he caught eight balls for 141 yards.

Bombers: Brady Oliveira RB: The Winnipeg tailback leads the league in rushing yards with 327. He rumbled for 120 yards in the Bombers’ win against the Als last Saturday.

7. Quotable:

“I’m not going to sugar-coat it; it would mean a lot. That’s a hell of a place to play a football game. They really sharpen your focus because they’re so talented. I always look forward to that challenge.” – Jake Maier on winning on the road in Winnipeg this Friday.
