7 Things – Redblacks @ Stamps

 

1. Us: (2-3)

The Stamps picked up a huge 33-31 victory in Saskatchewan last week to get back in the win column. Rene Paredes, A.K.A Mr. Clutch, hit a dramatic last second field-goal to walk the game off in Regina to move the team to 2-3. QB1 Jake Maier moved the ball well, throwing for 315 yards and two touchdowns.

2. Them: Ottawa Redblacks (2-3)

The Redblacks had their most impressive win of the last few seasons last Saturday, July 15, coming back from a 25-6 fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Blue Bombers 31-28 in overtime. First-time CFL starter Dustin Crum was huge in the win.

3. Us Vs Them

The Stamps and Redblacks have met once already this season in Week 2 with Calgary winning 26-15. Tailback Dedrick Mills had 102 rushing yards and a touchdown in the win. Middle linebacker Micah Awe chipped in five tackles, one interception, and a sack on defence.

 

4. Fun For The Whole Family:

This is Calgary’s first regular-season home game on a Sunday since Aug. 28, 2016, when the Stamps defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 30-24.

The Family Day-themed Gridiron Gardens opens two hours before kickoff at 3 p.m. The section will be alcohol-free for this week’s contest and features numerous family-friendly attractions!

Stamps: Clark Barnes WR: The rookie receiver has made an impact in the return game and at receiver the past few weeks. The 2023 third-round draft pick had 119-yards on five kick returns, and five receptions for 34-yards against Saskatchewan.

Redblacks: Dustin Crum QB: Dustin Crum went 26-of-42 for 261 yards passing and rushed for 103-yards and two touchdowns in his first CFL start against Winnipeg last week.
