7 Things – Argos @ Stamps

 

1. Us: (2-5)

The Stamps dropped a 25-18 decision to the Montreal Alouettes on the road last week. Rene Paredes scored all 18 of Calgary’s points, going six-for-six on field-goal attempts. Jake Maier threw for 256-yards in the loss, while Reggie Begelton caught eight passes for 102-yards.

2. Them: Toronto Argonauts (6-0)

The Argo’s remained perfect this season, taking down the Roughriders 31-13 at Touchdown Atlantic last week. Javon Leake had 171 punt-return yards and one touchdown, while the defence continued to dominate in the win.

3. Us Vs Them

This is the first of two matchups between the Stamps and Argonauts this season. Calgary will head to Toronto August 25 to finish off the season series. The last time these two teams met at McMahon Stadium was Oct. 1 of last season. The Stamps came away with a 29-2 victory.

 

4. Fast Facts:

Before the 7 p.m. kickoff, there will be a Heritage Night Market in the East Fan Zone including cultural food trucks. There will be tents with displays from India, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Morocco and China.

On the field, 100 Ukrainian refugees will be holding the flags for the anthem and the halftime show features a performance by Indian pop artist Ikky.

Heritage Night features special offers including a group ticket offer to new Canadians that includes a $10 ticket for children and the opportunity to go to field level for pre-game. In addition, there’s an offer that gives the purchaser the opportunity to be at field level during the halftime performance.

Stamps: Micah Awe LB: Micah Awe leads the CFL in tackles with 58 this season, including eight last week against Montreal. He also has one sack, one interception and one forced fumble on the year.

Argos: Robertson Daniel DB: Robertson Daniel comes into the game second in the CFL with four interceptions. He has returned one of those interceptions for a touchdown and has also added 28 tackles, four pass deflections, and a forced fumble.
